Research Labs
Where a method earns its name.
The foundry's R&D arm. Every Foundworks venture started here — as a question, a method, or a tool — and had to prove itself before it earned a brand. This is the bench the whole portfolio is built on.
What the lab has built
Research doesn't stay in the lab
The proof of a research arm isn't papers — it's what ships. Every live Foundworks venture started as a question on this bench.
AI · the deepest bet
Decabox
Began as a question — could a machine give an answer you can actually defend? It became a verification and forecasting engine, built from a bespoke, auditable stack.
About DecaboxBusiness · the proving ground
The Bizkits toolkit
The research into building fast — turning a proven method into a shippable tool without a year of runway. The result: 22 small back-office tools, built and shipped.

Cruxlab
A structured way to read what's costing a page the sale — a research method, sharpened until it was reliable, then turned into a service people buy.

The questions on the bench
Different problems, one thread: methods that hold up when something real depends on them.
Verification & deliberation
How to get an answer out of a machine that you can put your name to — checked, auditable, with its uncertainty made plain.
Rapid product-building
Turning a proven method into something shippable, fast — the difference between a good idea and a venture that's actually live.
Applied AI for real work
Tools that do a specific job for a specific person — not demos. If it doesn't earn its keep, it doesn't leave the lab.
Auditability by design
Building things that can be checked from the ground up, rather than bolting an audit trail on afterwards.
How the lab works
Prove it before you brand it
01
Start with a real question
Not "wouldn't it be cool if" — a question where being wrong actually costs something. That's the only kind worth the bench time.
02
Build the smallest real thing
Then try to break it before a customer can. A method only counts once it survives contact with something it can't fake.
03
It earns its name, or it doesn't leave
Only what proves out gets spun into a venture with its own brand. The rest stays on the bench, or gets shelved. No vanity launches.
There's always something on the bench
When it earns its name, it shows up in the portfolio. If you'd like to follow what's forming — or you're working on something that needs a lab — we'd like to hear from you.
